Parenthood – Part 1
Hello Readers!
It has been awhile since I posted anything. Why? Because life has been very busy. Busy, but good. My son is now 19 months old, running around, almost feeding himself and on the verge of talking. Life is amazing. All of this this has got me thinking about parenthood itself and how it has changed my view of life and everything comprised within. Let’s explore this.
Someone once said “You are the closest I will ever come to magic.” This rings the truest of truths for me. It’s what I believe in the depths of my heart and soul. My son, Xander, is more than just the most important thing in my life, he IS my life. Past readers may have read my previous blog about his miraculous birth (If you haven’t read it, you should and can here ). Since that time, I have not had a bad day…well not really anyway. Of course we have had our ups and downs. Grumpy days and exciteful days. Incredibly active days and couch potato days and yes even angry days but never bad. All in all, life could not be any more peaceful and pleasant.
Why you ask? It’s something I honestly and truthfully cannot put into words. If you are a parent, I am sure you know how I feel. If you are thinking about starting a family but are on the fence about it, take my word for it and go for it. You will never be more amazed at how it changes your life for the better. What about those of you who would love to but are too nervous? There is nothing to be nervous about. There is learning, there are worries, there are things that happen that you could never expect but it all works out in the end and it is definitely true when people say, being a parent comes naturally. You know what is best for your child.
For those of you who do not want a family, there is nothing wrong with that. Everyone is free to make their own decisions. I know plenty of people who don’t have or want a family and they are as happy as can be. However, I honestly cannot and will not believe that it can come close to anything as unique and amazing as holding your child in your arms. All I can really say is that I hope one day, you change your mind and can experience the magic I experience every day. After all, Xander is the closest I will ever come to magic.
